Class Experience

Tarantulas are beautiful arachnids which do tend to strike a heart of fear in some people. But tarantulas really are amazing creatures that deserve some respect.

I have owned several different species of spiders since I was old enough to walk. From the largest tarantula in the world to an itsty bitsy spider that went up the I'm singing. But you get the point. The point is, no matter the kind of spider, as long as you provide the essentials, you can expect to have a happy 8-legged friend around for a while.

My teaching approach is more about the students sharing with me what they know about the critter they are considering to buy or inherit. I want to know did they do their research first? Are they able to share with mom and dad or their guardian why they want an animal while backing up their "why" with real scientific answers.

This class is no pressure. Not a sales pitch. I want to insure you and your new buddy can get along well for years to come.
I'll provide a hand out for proper care of a common pet tarantula.
2 hours per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
None. Unless you get grossed out by fuzzy spiders with multiple eyes and long fangs.
