Class Experience

Bakers will learn how to read a recipe and bake moist chocolate cupcakes. First, we will read over my favorite recipe for these cupcakes and have a short discussion and answer questions before we move on. I will teach the bakers tips for properly measuring ingredients, making sure all ingredients are well incorporated, how long to preheat the oven, and other cupcake baking basics. While we wait for the deliciousness to finish baking, we will make a fluffy peanut butter frosting. After removing the cupcakes from the oven, we will place them on cooling racks to allow them to completely cool. Since the cupcakes will take about 30 minutes to cool, we will not frost them during class time. Please frost and upload a picture as I would love to see the finished product. Enjoy! Yum!

Note: Class may not take full 60 minutes

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hola. My name is Kimyco Trules. I am a wife and mother of 3 children ages 13, 13, and 11. I graduated from Grand Canyon University with a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Education degree and I am a 3rd grade teacher at a local Christian school.
I decided that I wanted to be a teacher when I was just a child so teaching has always been my passion. In 2004, I moved to Mexico to become a missionary. While there, I became fluent in Spanish and I taught kindergarten, English, Spanish, Sunday school, and baking classes. I also taught a multi-grade class using a church as a classroom for children who had no birth certificates to be able to register for public school. I also met and married my husband in Mexico, had 1 biological son, and adopted 2 little girls (sisters). In 2017 we moved to California.
My goal as a teacher is to use my knowledge and experience to improve education. I want to pass on good values and inspire my students to strive for greatness. With strongly developed problem-solving skills, students can overcome their challenges. My desire is to guide all of my students and be a role model that will spark them to be their best.
