Each week we will tackle a new playdough challenge in this version of the course led 95-100% Spanish for kids at an intermediate to advanced Spanish level to give them an opportunity to practice language skills. The teacher will direct the learners to make a certain category of creation each class meeting, while leaving room for creativity (for instance, what kind of animal or what foods each learner will make), and much of where our conversation goes will depend on their creative choices. Week of September 26 - Challenge: Make a meal - topic: foods and eating Week of October 3 - Challenge: Make an ocean creature - topic: animals and body parts Week of October 10 - Challenge: Make a house - topic: parts of house and colors Week of October 24 - Challenge Make a nocturnal animal - topic: animals and body parts Week of October 31 - Challenge: Make a family - topic: family members Week of November 7 - Challenge: Make a playground - topic: things at the playground, movement verbs Week of November 14 - Challenge: Make a land animal - topic: animal vocabulary and body parts Week of November 21 - BREAK Week of November 28 - Challenge: Make a castle - topic: castles and people in them Week of December 5 - Challenge: Make an insect - topic: insect names and body parts Week of December 12 - Challenge: Make a wintery item - topic: cold weather fun Please bring playdough (any color and type). Some weeks we will use cylindrical playdough containers (or similar) to give structure to our creations. Playdough tools are optional. It is very helpful if the learner's camera is angled so that I can see what they are creating on the table and see them at the same time. That way we can talk about their creations more easily as they make them, and it is easier for them to share about them. Each week is a separate challenge that does not build on the previous week. Learners may join at any time. (Cover image is the instructor's own photo.)

Parental Guidance
Modeling dough may contain wheat, which could cause an allergic reaction if ingested in those sensitive to wheat gluten or with Celiac disease. If this allergen is a concern for your child, please use an alternative dough.
Supply List
- Modeling dough, such as Play-Doh. Feel free to bring either homemade or store-bought dough. While one jar is fine, a variety of colors is fantastic if available. - Some weeks we may use cylindrical Play-Doh containers (or similar) to give structure to our creations. - Modeling dough tools are also a great addition.
