Each day we will target different Spanish vocabulary groups through playdough creation and play. The teacher will direct the learners to create a certain kind of creation each day, while leaving room for creativity (for instance, what kind of animal or what breakfast foods each learner will make), and some of the vocabulary we practice will depend on their creative choices. I received a minor in the Spanish language with my bachelor degree (2011). Later, I went on to complete the seven-week level 5 Spanish course at Roca Blanca Spanish School in Catalotepec, Mexico (2018). I have taught group Spanish classes to a variety of ages over a span of five years, four years of which were online. Additionally, I have been raising my children primarily in Spanish since 2016.
After each class meeting, I provide either a brief list of vocabulary words and phrases we used during our class time for learners to continue to review or a page of class notes. I sometimes provide worksheets for further practice as well.
Playdough! Feel free to bring either homemade or store-bought playdough. While one jar is fine, a variety of colors is fantastic if available. Playdough tools are also a great addition. Playdough may contain wheat, which could cause an allergic reaction if ingested in those sensitive to wheat gluten or with Celiac disease. If this allergen is a concern for your child, please use an alternative dough.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
