Description
Class Experience
Each week we will target different Spanish vocabulary groups through playdough creation and play. The teacher will direct the learners to create a certain kind of creation each class meeting, while leaving room for creativity (for instance, what kind of animal or what breakfast foods each learner will make), and some of the vocabulary we practice will depend on their creative choices. Week of August 8 - Challenge: Make a tree - Vocabulary: names of tree parts and nature vocabulary Week of...
I received a minor in the Spanish language with my bachelor degree (2011). Later, I went on to complete the seven-week level 5 Spanish course at Roca Blanca Spanish School in Catalotepec, Mexico (2018). I have taught group Spanish classes to a variety of ages over a span of five years, four years of which were online. Additionally, I have been raising my children primarily in Spanish since 2016.
After each class meeting, I will provide either a brief list of vocabulary words and phrases we used during our class time for learners to continue to review or a page of class notes. I often sometimes worksheets for further practice as well.
- Modeling dough, such as Play-Doh. Feel free to bring either homemade or store-bought dough. While one jar is fine, a variety of colors is fantastic if available. - Some weeks we will use cylindrical Play-Doh containers (or similar) to give structure to our creations. - Modeling dough tools are also a great addition. It is very helpful if the learner's camera is angled so that I can see what they are creating on the table and see them at the same time. That way we can talk about their creations more easily as they make them, and it is easier for them to share about them. Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
