This class will provide students the opportunity to learn some basic facts about international human rights law and then put their knowledge to work in a mock courtroom scenario. Students in this class will spend the first two class periods getting an overview of international human rights law, including international humanitarian law and international criminal law and learn the framework of how international law works. I was a lawyer at the International Criminal Court in The Hague for many years and have now taught mock trials at the university and high school level for several years. It is a crowd pleasing favorite which engages students and teacher alike. I truly love teaching this course!
