Class Experience

US Grade Kindergarten - 2
Beginner Level
In this one-time course, I will run a mock summer yard sale of virtual goods for the kids to "buy" and learn how money works. This summer mock yard sale is where learning about money makes cents.

The skills learned here will help build a foundation for future money matters and prepare kids for their own yard sales and lemonade stands. Addition, subtraction, and identifying various coins and objects. It will be loads of fun. After a short lesson and worksheet on how much each coin is worth, every child will be assigned a set amount and the option to "buy" a couple of items.

Summer is for yard sales, stop by for some fun with money.

Hi

My name is Kerie Miller. I am an Early Literacy Tutor and Certified Jolly Phonics tutor. Plus, a professional author/illustrator working in children's publishing and I work under the pen name Charlie Eve Ryan aka Mrs. Charlie. I have done projects for both trade books and educational publishers. Everything from picture books to board books and magazine spreads. I also do art workshops. Clients include Page Street Kids, Astra Publishing, Amicus Ink, McGraw Hill, as well as Highlights and Ladybug Magazines.

As an Early Literacy Tutor, I work for an online educational company where we work with children in charter schools all over the US. I work with children ages K-5nd grade. We help create future readers.

In the past, I have worked for a local school district as a substitute teaching assistant. I love to teach and interact with budding bookmakers, writers, and artists, while also helping students develop early math, reading, and English skills.

My classes are a place for creatives to explore new ideas and build confidence in their maker skills. A place where art, words, and fun facts collide.
