40 mins in-class hoursClass Experience
We will be focusing on reading comprehension and vocabulary by reading one of Mo Willems’s books during each class. I will be asking questions before, during, and after the story to check comprehension and discuss important vocabulary. I will pose real-life questions and give the children a way to relate it to their own lives. At the end of each class, you will have access to a follow-up question worksheet about the book posted on the classroom page. In our first class, we will read "I Really Like Slop" and in the second, "Should I Share My Ice Cream?"
Learning Goals
I will be asking questions before, during, and after the story. This will help with predicting, remembering what is going on in the story, as well as, being able to further elaborate details from the story.

Teacher expertise and credentials
Hi Everyone, my name is Jackie and I have been teaching for 21 years. I taught 2nd through 6th grade in an elementary setting with the majority of that experience teaching gifted learners. Then I jumped over to middle school and now teach English/Language Arts. I have a Master's Degree in Education and am Nationally Board Certified.
I love teaching in any capacity and offer all different classes ranging from reading, writing, theater, music, art... creativity knows no bounds. I love connecting with kids and teaching on any platform. I can't wait to teach some of the lessons that we just run out of time for in the public school setting.
I have 3 kids who keep me very busy and my husband is also a teacher! We love to read, go to the park, and go to Disneyland. We live in Southern California and definitely take advantage of our amazing weather! I hope to see you soon!
