Does your student struggle with math concepts taught in middle school? In this ongoing class (students can join at any time), we’ll cover key math topics taught in middle school, helping students build a solid foundation before moving on to Pre-Algebra and Algebra. This class meets once per week. Be sure to read the full class description before signing up! :) Week of 2/3/25 : Topic #24. Exponents and Order of Operations Cont. 17. Expressions 18. Scientific Notation 19. One-Step Equations 20. Two-Step Equations 21. Solving Equations Using the Distributive Property 22. Solving Equations with Variables on Both Sides 23. Solving Multi-Step Equations 24. Solving and Graphing One-Step Inequalities 25. Solving and Graphing Two-Step Inequalities 26. Classifying Angles and Triangles 27. Perimeter and Area of Quadrilaterals 28. Area of Triangles 29. Pythagorean Theorem 30. Circumference of a Circle 31. Area of a Circle 32. 3D Figures, Volume of Rectangular and Triangular Prisms 33. Volume of Cylinders 34. Surface Area of Rectangular Prisms 35. Surface Area of Cylinders 36. Angles and Triangles 37. Coordinate Plane 38. Mean, Median, Mode and Range Materials: Paper and pencil, with a math notebook preferred. A multiplication chart can be used if needed. I will demonstrate each math concept step by step using the Zoom whiteboard. **Please note: Since this is a short class, learners will be muted in groups with more than one student to minimize background noise. About Me
In 2005, I earned my Bachelor's Degree in Middle Childhood Education, specializing in Mathematics, from the University of Findlay. My passion for teaching led me to work as a classroom math teacher for nine years, where I had the privilege of educating students in grades 4-9 across Florida and Ohio.
In 2014, my journey took me to Tampa, Florida, where I spent three years teaching seventh and eighth grade math. In 2017, I transitioned to online education, starting with four years of teaching English as a Second Language (ESL). For the past four years, I’ve been back to my true passion—teaching math in the virtual classroom. I’m excited to share my love for math with your learner and support their growth in this subject!
In addition to teaching in the virtual classroom, I value spending quality time with my loved ones and friends. I find fulfillment in exploring new destinations through travel and creating unforgettable memories. Maintaining good health and fitness is also important to me, and I make it a priority by staying active through various physical activities such as walking, biking and weight lifting.
I'm truly excited to be a part of your learner's mathematical journey and look forward to fostering their growth and development in this essential subject.
