Students will learn strategies for reducing the impact of climate change and helping the environment. Students will even go on a virtual field trip to a receding glacier! Students will interact with their teacher via Outschool tools and Nearpod. The class is structured and topics include the following: 1. What do you know? 2. What is climate change? What can we do to help? 3. Field trip 4. Key vocabulary and definitions 5. Coral reefs - what's happening? 6. Research 7. What can we do to help? 8. Let's make a plan! 9. Write a letter 10. Let's discuss your experience! Here, I will talk about my experience with Parks Canada in a turtle protection and incubation program! Some experience or knowledge is recommended but not required for enrolment in this course. Discussing climate change with a scientific approach. No politics will be discussed.
Supply List
Materials will be provided by the teacher. Students do not need to purchase materials. If students wish to take notes, they will require a writing utensil and paper. This is encouraged.

I hold a Bachelor of Arts in Kinesiology and have taken classes in science and biology. Specifically, I have found a passion for environmental biology and ecology. I have also worked as an Educator with Parks Canada for three years teaching ecology and environmental biology to youth and adults. I am an engaging, young teacher who loves interacting with youth. I am very passionate about environmental science. I am very excited to be teaching science courses!
