Students will listen and participate in a presentation of error types and picture examples of collectible error coins. Students will learn about five of the most valuable mint-made errors which have made some specific penny errors highly sought after by collectors. Students will listen and participate in a presentation of mint-made coin errors. Students will learn about the five most valuable mint errors of pennies. Students will observe and inspect their own pennies for the mint errors.
As a teacher with more than twenty-five years experience, I have taught students to engage in active learning. Students love this penny treasure hunt.
Students may wish to continue inspecting their pennies for mint-made errors as an ongoing hobby.
Students will need 100 or more pennies to inspect. Magnifying Glass (Optional)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Students will be assessed by participation and active learning during this class.
45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
