Description

Class Experience

This fictional story focuses on Jazz, a young girl, as she and her mother set out to begin a new life on Mars! The story is set in the future and features fictional accounts from Jazz, her grandmother, and several others as they discover life and continue to develop colonization on Mars. There are several different text types within the story - newspaper articles, transcripts, diary entries, and email communication.

Students will read the text, study language, vocabulary, grammar, inference and inflection, prediction, summary as well as examining a range of non fictional types of text besides fiction - newspaper articles, diary entries, transcripts

I have a BA (Hons) degree in English and a Teaching Literacy Diploma for Primary and Secondary Schools. I am a qualified English Language teacher with TEFL and am currently studying a Masters Degree in English.

Homework assignments will be given each week for further participation

All materials provided, learners will only need a pen and paper.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

45 minutes per week in class, and no time outside of class.
