Class Experience

Prepare for and participate effectively in a conversation with diverse partners; express ideas clearly and persuasively and build on those of others. Generate and conceptualize artistic ideas and work. Gathering, interpreting, and using evidence. Communicate solutions that will reduce the impact of humans on living organisms and non-living things in the environment. Obtain and combine information to describe that energy and fuels affect the environment. Students will be exposed to geographical reasoning, cultural, social, and physical characteristics of regions. Exposure to cartographic information ranging from simple reckoning of locations to the understanding of spatial structure and process that maps represent.
I work with the World Awareness Children's Museum as both an Educator and as an Education Coordinator. Our classes and programs are approved by our Education Committee which is a team of current teachers or people who have worked in our local school districts. Our sources are identified through team collaboration, diligent research, and our museums 10,000+ cultural and historical artifacts. This particular summer camp is based off one of our weekly, in person, summer camps and was a big hit with the children who attended our museum! I hope your child will also enjoy it!
Students will need a hat every class (any hat of their choice), ‘This is Me the Extraterrestrial’ printout, (pdf provided and filled out before class 1), design printouts (pdf’s provided the morning of classes 2-5). Plenty of drawing paper, pencils, crayons, and colored pencils for class 1, 2, and 4, and blocks or Legos for classes 3 and 5. (Please Note: All printing is optional, children can use blank paper.)
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
5 hours per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
