Description
Class Experience
Learners will focus on hands-on learning that promotes applied mathematics and science concepts. They will practice learning new content and then applying what they have learned through creative invention challenges. Gain confidence to author with technology, solve real world problems, and design new solutions.
2 files available upon enrollmentLearners will need a hat for every day of class (this is their Hologram Hat that allows them to blend in with Earthlings). Challenge One: 15 plastic solo cups, 12 popsicle sticks, one small toy figurine. Challenge Two: 'Plastic Cup Stack Algorithm' one-page, printout (provided when you sign up for class), 15 plastic solo cups, and one sharpie marker. Challenge Three: 12 popsicle sticks, 15 clothespins (that open and close with hinges), one small toy figurine. Challenge Four: 'Art Restoration' one-page, printout, 2 plastic solo cups, four markers, masking tape/duct tape. Challenge Five: 1 piece of 8x10 printing paper or construction paper, scissors, glue stick or stapler, and ruler/measuring tape. *Parents/Guardians: Please supervise your child when using scissors.
3 hours 45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
