Class experience

Students will receive guidance for building a productive piano learning portfolio. In addition to learning how to read music, music theory and musical scales, students may also be encouraged to explore about chord progression, improvisation, and more!. General goals will apply to beginner level students. As the student progresses, goals will evolve around the student's learning styles and preferences. For example, a student may decide to venture into different music genres, such as, classical or jazz. Or perhaps the student is a Star Wars fan and wants explore playing theme songs. Another scenario might be that the student really enjoys improvising, and so, learning chord progressions and inversions is really the focus. It could be any one of these or a combination. The list is endless, which is why each learner's musical journey will be unique.
Homework Offered
The student will be guided and encouraged to set and attain goals for practice during the week. It is recommended that practice sessions are scheduled daily in between lessons. Specific assignments will be given each week. A LESSON JOURNAL will be uploaded to each student's classroom after each lesson. It is recommended that it is printed and put in a folder or binder. This method allows the student (and parent) to view assignments, as well as, track progress and achievements.
