Every week we will read poems, discuss literary techniques, and do our own creative writing.

US Grade 2 - 5
In this class, we will read two or more poems that exemplify a literary device. We will discuss our reactions to each poem. Every week we will learn a new poetry term or technique. This is an ongoing class and each lesson stands on its own, so it is not necessary to attend each week. Using creative writing prompts, learners will have time to write their own poems. We will practice speaking skills by presenting our poems to the other learners. Week of December 9: Alliteration Week of December 16: Personification Week of December 23: Limericks Week of Deceber 30: Poems about the weather Week of January 6: Anaphora
