Miss Jaymee's Spring Concert Class and Singer Social (Ages 8-11)

Sing, socialize and celebrate Spring! Come ring in the end of the school year with a fantastic group of singers excited to share their skills and learn in an inviting space. This class is aimed at current private voice students of Miss Jaymee. It is recommended to have completed at least 1 prior voice class with Miss Jaymee ahead of joining this one-time group class.

Meet and Greet: Singing in front of others can absolutely feel nerve-wracking. Let’s get everyone feeling comfortable with one another by sharing your name, your favourite song to sing ect. A kind reminder that Miss Jaymee will do her best to make sure share time between all students is fair. Please share when called upon there will be lot’s of time to socialize at the end of class.

Group Warmup: Miss Jaymee will guide our singers through a singer’s warmup. Oo, ahh, and learn some fun exercises while prepping the voice for song work. Each student will be given the opportunity to work an exercise solo if they wish. We will work on confidence building here in a supportive space.

Group Song Work: Let’s sing through a few group songs together! Song lyrics will be pasted in the classroom ahead of time as well as song tracks in case our singers want to familiarize themselves with songs ahead of class time. We will go over our songs together slowly and then put then put the song together using pre-recorded tracks . 

Concert Solo Time: Singers will take turns singing **1 minute** of a preselected song in a virtual concert type setting if they wish. Song selections should be agreed upon with Miss Jaymee ahead of class time in order to keep our concert running smoothly and on time. Other singers will mute and support the solo singer until it is their turn to sing. If a singer is too nervous to sing solo in class, you may choose to either upload a video to the classroom page of their solo, sing their song with Miss Jaymee or even the class as support. Remember we are here to have fun and that nerves are totally normal. Nerves mean we care! We will work through them together. 

Social Fun: Party time! Miss Jaymee will guide our singers through ice-breaker activities and social fun. Small breakout rooms may be used to give our singers some time to get to know their fellow singers in a smaller setting. Feel free to bring an object or a photo you’d like to share with the class!
