Class experience

US Grade 7 - 10
This class is taught in English.
At the end of this Multi-Day class, learners will possess the skills to:

LESSON 1: BEHAVIOR OF ELECTRONS, WAVELENGTHS, & FREQUENCY
1. describe the dual nature of electrons
2. describe the relationships between wavelengths and frequency

LESSON 2: ELECTROMAGNETIC RADIATION & WAVE SPEED
1. compare forms of electromagnetic waves
2. describe and use the mathematical relationship between wave speed, wavelength, and frequency

LESSON 3: MAKING WAVES LAB
1. Demonstrate the Scientific Method by making predictions, performing an experiment, recording observations, analyzing results, and forming conclusions
2. Use Scientific Models to make waves with different colors of light
3. Investigate how wavelengths and frequencies are related.
4. Discuss wave properties using common scientific vocabulary.
5. Explain how changing the frequency and amplitude affects the characteristics of the wave.
I have a bachelor’s degree in science in education as well as 1 year of formal teaching experience.
Homework Offered
Learners are encouraged to complete their labs during the provided class time. If additional time is needed, learners are encouraged to continue completing their labs on their own and have them submitted before the review lesson.
Assessments Offered
Learners will be informally assessed through their ability to guide me through various examples and activities during the live lessons. Activities include: LESSON 3: Phet Simulation will be used to complete the Making Waves Lab. A Google Form will also be used as a lab report form.
Grades Offered
Learners will need the following materials:
1. A notebook and pencil for note taking
2. Calculator
3. Internet Access for the simulation and google form.
