In this ongoing class, we create animal crafts while we talk about consonant, vowel, digraph or blend sounds. We also play a language game each week. The week of 4-1-24 we will make Plastic Wrap Comb Jellies and talk about the J sound.

Class experience

Learners will learn new phonics sounds each week.
Learners will learn words that start with the new phonics sound each week.
Learners will learn about a new animal each week.
Learners will make and share beautiful art.
Learners will have fun!
I have been a speech-language pathologist for over 20 years and love to help kids acquire new language and communication skills.  I have always loved to help kids create and share.  I also love reading and I am very excited to pass the love of reading on to my learners.

Two weeks worth of supply lists will be posted here at least a week before class starts. This class supply list will be continuously updated to reflect at least the next 2 weeks of projects. Week of April 1: Plastic Wrap Comb Jellies Plastic wrap Colorful paper Crayons or markers Scissors Stapler (You could probably also use tape, but I did not test it with tape.) This class is ending after April 3rd. Please look for related Flex/Self-paced classes to be coming soon! An extension activity will be posted in the classroom after class. This handout will be black and white to minimize ink needed when printing. The activity will be able to be completed on a device in case a printer isn't available.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Learners will need adult supervision when working with messy art materials, glue, and scissors.  
All class materials will be created by the instructor.
