Mini Zine Makers is a fun and relaxed ongoing class where students will learn the art of making mini zines. Each session begins with a quick demonstration of the week’s theme and creative prompts. Students then dive into creating their zines, using their own unique ideas to fill each page with writing, drawings, or collages. With guidance and encouragement, learners will experiment with different styles and storytelling techniques, while sharing their progress in a supportive, collaborative environment. Week 1: About Me Zine - Create a simple "About Me" zine to kick off your collection. Week 2: Nature Zines - Explore themes like favorite animals, plants, or outdoor adventures. - Use creative prompts to fill pages with fun facts, drawings, and short stories. Week 3: How-To Zines - Share your knowledge by creating a "how-to" guide on something you love (e.g., making slime, drawing a cat, or building a Lego masterpiece). Week 4: Poetry Zines - Experiment with poetry and imagery to craft a visually striking mini zine. - Explore styles like free verse, haiku, or rhyming couplets. Week 5: Comic Zines - Learn the basics of visual storytelling through comics. - Design a short comic strip or graphic story for your zine. Week 6: Fan Zines - Celebrate your favorite book, show, game, or hobby by creating a fan zine. - Include reviews, character art, or "Top 5" lists. Week 7: Tiny Adventures - Design a zine that tells a short adventure story featuring unique characters and settings. Week 8: Free Choice - Bring your own ideas to life!
