Class Experience

Students will start building their foundational muscle memory for traditional yoga asanas/poses while learning how to create joy no matter where they are and no matter what is happening around them. They will discover that they can do yoga, and practicing is a whole lot of fun!
I have been practicing yoga for more than 5 years, and I became certified as a trauma-informed yoga teacher in 2018. I have been working with children and teens in a wide range of capacities for around 20 years.
Yogis should have an open area of the floor or ground with enough space to lie down and spread out, and it's wise to have water within reach. Nothing else is required, although blankets; pillows; and a strap, scarf, or long towel may be beneficial, and sometimes we may practice near a wall to encourage a different experience of the poses.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
1 hour 40 minutes per week in class, and no time outside of class.
Please reach out to me if this is your child's first time practicing yoga and/or if he or she (or you) has any concerns of which you would like me to be aware. I have been trained to teach yoga so that anyone who wishes to participate will reap its benefits, and I offer modifications and advancements for the poses throughout class. Yoga truly is for everyone!
