In this 3 day mini winter break art camp, artists will enjoy making creative winter themed art. We will make three of my most popular winter art projects: penguins, a woodland forest and hot cocoa!

This fun winter art camp is perfect for young artists looking to be creative over winter break, between Christmas and New Years. The art topics I will cover are watercolor painting and drawing. Learners will use pencils and oil pastels or crayons to learn drawing techniques. We will also have lots of fun using watercolor paints, and learn brush strokes and color mixing. Each artwork will be mixed media since we will use more than one art material for the art. Important art ideas introduced will be color, composition, shapes, overlapping, perspective, and design. Each artwork will be unique, playful, and fun! Day 1: Penguin watercolor resist project Day 2: Winter Landscape with evergreen trees and forest animals. Day 3: Hot Cocoa Mug Class will be structured so that learners can interact with each other and have fun, all while creating a new unique artwork. I will guide students on their artwork by creating my own piece along with students and talking about each step. Along the way, we will talk about the art techniques being used. Towards the end of each class, we will have a discussion and share artwork with each other, while talking about the project. My teaching style is relaxed and easy going. Each student will be allowed to be as creative and free as they would like. I enjoy and encourage lots of discussion about the art process and include a positive, encouraging critique. No previous experience is required.

Hello! I am an Art Educator and Artist. I love teaching art to all ages, especially elementary school and middle school. My art classes include watercolor painting, acrylic painting, drawing, elementary art projects that work on skill building, and learning about art history through fun projects about artists - including Non-Western and Women artists.
I teach art from my heart and aim to build self esteem in my students through the arts. I challenge students to find their inner artist through creativity and self expression. I believe in the process of art, individual expression, creative thinking, and problem solving. Each art project is designed to develop technical skills, artistic interpretation, and unique artwork. We have lots of fun while making artwork and socializing is encouraged during my art classes.
My art background began as a child. I loved to learn how to paint or draw anything and everything. After receiving a BFA in Graphic Design, I became a children's textile designer in the fashion industry in NYC. While in New York, I attended fine arts classes at the Art Student's League and The New School. I moved to New York State's Hudson Valley, and am inspired daily by the landscapes and nature around me. I also am inspired by my pet cats, who may visit the classroom once in a while.Reviews
