Class Experience

This is a circle-time type class, where students are encouraged to talk and participate! We will be learning a different theme each week. The themes are listed below. All learning for that week will be focused on that theme. We will be learning different subjects that are related to the preschool/pre-kindergarten age such as: letters, counting and colors. The students will be able to have show and tell each week to become more involved in their learning! We will sing songs and have interactive discussion time about the theme. We will do a craft each week which correlates to our weekly theme.

Each day will be slightly different. However, there will be similar concepts in each class. We begin with introductions where every child can say their name and something different (their age, what they did that day, something they are excited about). Each child gets a turn to talk. Next we will talk about the day of the week it is. We will sing the days of the week song together. We will count together and go over the number for the week. The children will trace/write the number depending on their ability. We will sing the ABC's and the students will discuss the letter for the week. We will trace/draw the letter together. The students will get to show their teacher/classmates their letter and number. We will discuss colors throughout class too with questions such as "what color did you make your 2?". Each child will get called upon several times during class. It is not mandatory to talk during class, so if you child does not want to talk or is shy, there is no pressure to talk! However, there will be many opportunities to talk if your child wants to. We will learn about our theme throughout class. We end class by singing our goodbye song together.
