This is a sample music class for 3 year olds to see what my Summer class "Playing Outdoors" is like. The children will experience beat, rhythm, and note patterns in this fun play based learning style with music and activities based on the theme of playing outdoors. In class we will sing hello to all the children, do a bouncing and rocking song, echo rhythm and singing patterns, play simple instruments (rhythm sticks and shakers, more instruments will be played in my 8 week class), do singing...
I have a Bachelor's degree in Music Education which included studies in Elementary General Music, Secondary Choral Music, and voice. I taught Elementary General Music in public schools for 4 years and then I received training in Musikgarten and received my Musikgarten teaching license. I also have additional training in Orff Schulwerk, which is a pedagogy for teaching children music.
Watch the recording of class later in the week and do the activities with mom, dad, or another adult caregiver.
30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
Some simple dancing and movement activities are included in this class. Please be sure your child has plenty of space to move around. My own children and I have never needed to wear tennis shoes, stretch, or have water on hand, as these dance activities only last a minute or 2 and aren't very strenuous. However, if you feel your child needs those things, please be prepared. It is your responsibility to make sure your child stays safe during these activities. Thanks!
