Young campers will be introduced to the following: Solfege Singing: This type of singing helps train and develop the musical ear. "Do - Re - Mi - Fa - So" is part of the musical language. Musical Movement: Not only must children hear music, but they must feel it! Movement with music provides a special and deep understanding of the energy within music. Call and Response: Like a conversation, music has its questions and answers. Children will learn how to respond to musical and visual cues. Rhythm Reading: Children will be introduced to chanting basic rhythm patterns Music Craft: Young campers will create their own "rhythm paper plates" This camp is designed to flow and to follow an established routine throughout the week. The teacher and students will be able to interact with each other as well as take turns leading musical activities. My teaching style for the preschool level is simple and fun: "watch and follow me". The children will not just learn about music, but experience it with fun!
