In this class, students will learn cool facts about centipedes and the daring black banded snakes that eat them.
Class experience
This class will start with slides and a video of centipedes as I explain some fascinating facts about these mini monsters, and even how they can be kept as pets! We’ll draw a centipede to learn more about these crazy little creatures. Then we will meet my black banded snake and look at close up pictures as we discuss observations on this highly un-studied, amazing little serpent! We will discuss how his coloration utilizes Batesian mimicry to keep him safe, and watch a video of my snake...
I want to instill an awe and appreciation for every creature I teach about-bug, snake, dog-everything! I believe the best way to do this is showing learners that all creatures are amazing and important individuals. This happens when they meet and learn about my personal animals, watch amazing animal action videos, and play games or take quizzes to help them feel confident in what they learn.
