"We cannot measure the influence that one or another artist has upon the child’s sense of beauty, upon his power of seeing, as in a picture, the common sights of life; he is enriched more than we know in having really looked at even a single picture." Charlotte Mason Do you have a budding artist or an art history buff in your family looking to learn more? Then this class is for you! I mix an exciting art class with an art history lesson to make learning fun. This class lets your child learn critical thinking skills and gain confidence. In this class we explore artists throughout history and help the learners develop art appreciation while engaging them in historical facts. The goal of this program is to motivate children to explore art and experiment with watercolor paint and oil pastel (or crayon) to make amazing art. Try out a class and see! This is an Ongoing Class, meaning your artist can subscribe to the class and join us every week, or jump in any time. Each lesson is independant. Each lesson will consist of time learning about a particular artist, their style, their life, and studying a work of art from that artist. After that, artists will follow a step by step art lesson creating an art piece inspired by the artwork studied. In each lesson artists will learn techniques related to beginning fundemental art techniques, as well as elements of art and principles of design. Doctoral Degree from Chapman University School of Law
Hello! I can't wait to learn and share with you! I have a bachelors degree in history, a doctorate in law, and certifications in photography and therepeudic art . I love learning, and teaching others.
I am a mom to 5 amazing kids, ages 17, 15, 14, 11, and 9. I've taught art classes for over 25 years and have worked with all ages. I am excited to reach out to even more students on this Outschool. I believe with Pablo Picasso that, "Every child is an artist." And my goal as an art teacher is to make sure we all have the desire and confidence to keep being creative and enjoy a life full of learning. Because just as Picasso said, "The problem is how to remain an artist once we grow up."
I homeschool my 3 youngest children for several years, and now all 5 are home with me. I love teaching them art and history. I love using my passion for history to teach how the events of our past have shaped our future.
When I am not teaching, our family travels. I love to travel to see the original art I study and teach about, and the geography that has inspired artists and influenced our history.
