1 in-class hoursClass Experience
In this one-time class, learners will use their imaginations and creativity to make some delicious-looking miniature foods. These can be made to use with Barbies, American Girl Dolls, LOL Dolls, OMG Dolls, Calico Critters, and much more. Learners can make these teeny-tiny or larger if preferred. We will learn techniques such as marbling, mixing colors, attaching pieces, rolling coils, round shapes, and flat shapes to make a variety of food items. These foods can include pancakes, donuts, fruits, veggies, cakes, pies, etc. The entire class time will be devoted to creating the foods, which can be baked after class with parental supervision (275 degree oven, 15 min per 1/4 thickness). Since these are made with heat-hardening polymer clay, these will last for a long time. I still have polymer clay items I made over 20 years ago! The suggested age for polymer clay is at least 8 years old, so I do not recommend younger children participate. If students prefer not to work with polymer clay, that's okay! Air-dry poly clay and other modeling clay will work just fine, but keep in mind they may not last as long or be as sturdy. More in-depth baking instructions will be posted on the classroom page after class is completed. *Note: parents are encouraged to help if students need an extra hand. For student safety, it is Outschool policy that adults remain off screen for the duration of class.
Learning Goals
These foods with be small, so students will be improving their fine motor skills. We will also be stretching our creative problem solving skills to help fuel our imaginations and mental flexibility.

Teacher expertise and credentials
**I am taking a break from teaching. Hopefully I will be back within the next couple of months! Please check back for new postings. Thank you!**
Hello everyone! Creating art is one of my favorite things to do, and I have lots of fun teaching all different kinds. I received my Bachelor’s degree in Fine Art and have been teaching art professionally for over 6 years. I’ve worked with children in a variety of settings including nannying, volunteering at summer camps, teaching art, local Parks & Recreation, and public schools. Children have different learning styles and abilities, so I tailor my lessons to fit individual needs. Most importantly, I encourage children to use their imaginations and have fun! My goal is to help students build confidence and to think in new ways. The classes I teach include making felt toys, doll accessories, baking, and sewing. I live in Oregon and I love spending time outdoors hiking. Nature has always inspired me, and I love to collect rocks and gems too! I look forward to sharing some fun art projects with you!
