Description
Class Experience
Rocks are all around us. From the seemingly mundane limestone formed in calm waters to basaltic rocks born from fiery volcanoes, every rock has a story to tell. Each rock is composed of a variety of minerals, which act as geological building blocks. The goal of this class is to introduce students to what a mineral is, the different types of rocks (igneous, sedimentary, and metamorphic), the minerals found in these rocks, and how they form. This will be a four-week class that will taught...
In addition to two degrees, I also have both teaching experience and professional experience in the field of geology. Geology has been a passion of mine for many years and I enjoy sharing what I have learned with others and open their eyes to the world of geology.
Students will be given assignments at the end of each class to test their knowledge of the subject material. In addition, discussion boards will be posted to the classroom page to further enhance student engagement with each other as well as the instructor.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
No live meetings, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
