Class Experience

Students will understand what minerals are. They will be able to use several mineral characteristics to observe minerals. They will develop an understanding of how we use minerals in our everyday lives.
After the first lesson, students are required to create a "mineral biography" about a mineral of their choosing! They will present their biographies in the second lesson.
 2 files available upon enrollment
Students will be provided a handout to complete during the lessons. They will also receive a handout which includes the project instructions, a sample project, and a chart of common minerals.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
50 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
