Learning is always more fun when you can relate it to something you already enjoy! In this beginner+ level class, keyboard students will practice their coordination by learning songs appropriate to continuing piano students. Through drawing on their knowledge of Minecraft, we'll explore some basic ideas in music theory, keyboard technique, and practice some songs you've heard while playing minecraft This class is perfect for students who have taken Beginning Piano Lessons, Music Moves Book 1 since this course will build on skills we worked on: playing melody and accompaniment, and learning music by ear. Each week, we will practice different aspects of two Minecraft songs, whether working primarily on the rhythms, the notes, technique, or music reading support. I will also provide 5 minute practice videos for the different songs to help reinforce the learning at home. Learners will also be given ample time to talk about Minecraft and relate that to musical patterns and meaning-making. This will be a relaxed class environment that encourages practice in between classes and creativity in musical expression. Not an official Mojang product.
Learning Goals
Learners will strengthen their piano technique, focusing on a good body and hand position while playing
