In this 4-week course, students will learn about the 8 parts of speech in the English language through texts and discussions about the game "Minecraft" and "mine" for grammar elements to "craft" correct grammar structures.

In this 4-week course, students will learn and review the parts of speech through texts and discussions about the game "Minecraft". The curriculum is aligned with the Common Core Standards for fourth and fifth grade. The classes are communicative and interactive and students will learn through games and fun activities. Each class is divided into three parts: presentation (I present the lesson), practice (students are engaged in interactive practice), and production (students produce the structure in speaking or writing independently). In order to participate, students do NOT need to know how to play the game "Minecraft" and can learn about it in this class. Here is the schedule of topics: Week 1 Monday: Nouns Wednesday: Verbs Week 2 Monday: Adjectives Wednesday: Adverbs Week 3 Monday: Pronouns Wednesday: Prepositions Week 4 Monday: Conjunctions Wednesday: Interjections Thank you for reading! I have been teaching English to native and nonnative speakers for over 20 years in the US and abroad. My approach is called "Focus-on-Form", which means my classes are very communicative and interactive in nature, but we still focus on grammar, pronunciation, or vocabulary. The most important aspect of my class for me is to provide a comfortable and enjoyable environment for the students and develop affection towards learning English in my students.
