In this 60 minute weekly class students learn the basics of Electrical Engineering in Minecraft. The class is hosted on my Minecraft server so that I can hop between students and make sure everyone is progressing and having a good time. Every week we cover a new Electrical Engineering concept and use Minecraft Redstone to create a new trap, puzzle, or cool machine. After every class I save each student's project into a Minecraft Structure Block. Then I email parents/guardians the tiny Structure Block file, along with simple instructions. This way students can show their friends what they made and use their creations on their single player Minecraft worlds at home! Class Overview: - Introduction and Ice Breakers - Minecraft Demonstration - Electrical Engineering TIME! - See everyone's creations - Copy work into Structure Block - Wrap up Teaching Methodology: Minecraft is awesome, and a great tool for teaching Electrical Engineering thanks to Minecraft Redstone. I believe the best way to learn is through play and experimentation. Every class I teach a new Electrical Engineering concept and then demonstrate how to use it in Minecraft. Most of the class is spent building your (trap, puzzle, machine) and then at the end everyone gets a chance to show off what they made (if they want to). I cover a new concept and creation every week! IMPORTANT NOTE: - Please make sure that you have installed Minecraft Java Edition before joining the class (available for PC/Mac). - Minecraft Java Edition does NOT work on Tablets or Chromebooks. - I recommend test playing Minecraft at least once before class. Age Requirement: 8 to 13 Prerequisite: - Minecraft Java Edition installed and ready to play (Mac or PC).

Teacher expertise and credentials
I've been teaching and developing curriculum for Minecraft classes for over 10 years. When Minecraft first became popular I designed several Minecraft courses for iD Tech Camps that went viral, and have since become standard classes in the tech camp industry.
During the last 10 years I've created dozens of different kinds of Minecraft classes for tech camps and schools. I've also taught hundreds of students in my own Minecraft classes. The most popular of which are: Minecraft Game Design, RPG Data Packs, Electrical Engineering, and Java Modding.
Fun side note: I originally developed this class at the request of Stanford University because they wanted a new approach to teaching intro to Electrical Engineering. Ever since Minecraft Electrical Engineering has been one of my most popular classes.
