Minecraft Coding Camp for Beginners
In this two-week multi-day Minecraft Coding Camp, we will cover the basics of block coding using Minecraft Education Edition, which is an extra cost of $12 to Microsoft. We will use the Make Code feature to code our agent as well as events.

In this two-week multi-day camp, students will use Minecraft Education Edition ($12 yearly cost per learner to Microsoft) to learn the basics of block coding. I will be screen sharing, so that all learners can see step-by-step how to code their agent or code world events. Although this is a beginner class, all learners are welcome to join us! Students will learn how to create a code step-by-step with my direction. They will learn why coding is important to our world through real-life examples.
I hold a certification in coding through Minecraft Education Edition. Not only have I been teaching block coding camps for more than a year, but I also love to do coding activities on my own. In addition, I use Minecraft Education Edition to teach subject matter through their amazing curriculum offered within the game.
Learners will be encouraged to complete or review the coding tasks for each class outside of camp; however, this is not a requirement to participate in the class.
Students will need: ~Minecraft Education Edition ($12 per learner annual cost) - purchased, downloaded, and logged in prior to each class ~A device for using this program, such as a tablet, cell phone, laptop, or desktop computer - This can be the same device where they are attending the online camp.
Those who want to screen share in order to check the accuracy of their block coding will be permitted to do so. This will be the only form of assessment and is optional to participate in this camp.
2 hours 45 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
In this multi-day two-week camp, we will be utilizing Minecraft Education Edition. Each student will be required to purchase this program through Microsoft at an annual cost of $12 per learner. This program can be used on an tablet, laptop, cell phone, or desktop computer. Parental consent is required for your learner to use this resource in my multi-day camp. Additionally, prior to class day, gamer tags can be messaged to me privately through Outschool for us to participate together on a private server, which will be teacher-moderated. Learners will not be allowed to share their gamer tags during the session in order to respect learner safety and privacy.
Minecraft Education Edition, which is part of Microsoft, will be used in this camp. Each learner who doesn't already have this version will need to visit their website to download and purchase the $12 annual license per student.
