Description
Class Experience
The objective of this course is to be a creative outlet for Minecraft lovers between the ages of 10 and 15 years old. In addition, it will encourage participants to communicate with each other in a positive manner through posts in the Outschool classroom.
As an educator, I feel Minecraft can be a powerful tool. In addition to being able to use Minecraft to teach subjects such as mathematics, Minecraft can bring learners together to create and connect with one another over a shared interest.
Each week club members will be required to do the following three tasks: create a Minecraft build related to the weekly subject/theme (creativity is encouraged), take a screenshot or screenshots of the build and post them in the Outschool classroom, and critique the other builds following the provided guidelines (at least one positive critique and at most one suggestion to improve/enhance the build).
Each club member will need access to their own copy of Minecraft. Any edition of the game is acceptable (Java, Bedrock, PE, Console, or Education Edition).
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
- Minecraft
No live meetings, and an estimated 1 - 2 hours per week outside of class.
