Minecraft may have started out as just a game, but it has become much more than that! Minecraft has become a such a cultural phenomenon that its creator Markus “Notch” Persson was rated the second most influential person in the world by Time Magazine readers in 2012. It has turned into a software platform used heavily in education to teach physics and computer science, as well as to create art installations, 3D printed objects and, of course, machinema! In this class, students will learn how to create 3D worlds and objects in Minecraft and export them to 3D software where they can render 3D movies. Also students will learn the basics of 3D computer animation in Blender!

Students will need to install necessary software for use in this class, but no communication will take place outside of Outschool.
Pre-Requisites
Good working knowledge of general computer usage.
Supply List
Students will need a modern Mac or PC. Please be logged in from the same device as the student will be working on so I can assist them via screen-share. Blender 4.2 or higher should be installed. Mineways should be installed. Students should have downloaded MCPrep. I can show them how to install it in Blender on day 1.
