Class Experience

Students will learn to think about their choices and challenges in different ways in order to learn and grow. This book is a guide to growing a little better every day by setting meaningful goals and using strategies to work toward them. As a book study, the students will be guided through this process by reading the text, discussions, reflections, and asking questions.
I have taught for 25 years, from first grade through college level. I'm also the author of this book, among many others. I speak about how to teach growth mindset at teaching conferences and have also implemented these ideas in my own classroom.
Students will need to read one chapter per week prior to each meeting for the book study. There will also be some short "Jot Your Thoughts" and self-reflection mini-quizzes to take.
You will need to purchase Mindset Power for our book study prior to our first class meeting. (It is $13.99 at Free Spirit Publishing and will be available on Amazon closer to the release date.) Here is a link to preorder: *I'm required to let you know that since I am the author of the book for this book study, I earn a small royalty from my publisher when you purchase the book. (Less than a dollar per book) It would be helpful to have a highlighter, journal or notebook, and something to write with for our class sessions.
1 hour 10 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 0 - 1 hours per week outside of class.
