Class Experience

Students will learn about mindfulness and how to apply mindfulness to the practice of yoga. Yoga is a fantastic choice of exercise for kids of all ages because it has so many benefits and can be done almost anywhere.  Through yoga, kids can learn to live in the moment and focus on what they are doing at that moment. Yoga is non-competitive and incorporates meditation, which adds to its power to relieve stress. When practicing yoga, you aim to focus on and control your breath, which helps you to be present in your yoga practice while also focusing on the present moment rather than all of the thoughts that can flood your mind. Learners will take time to relax their minds and bodies through stretch, yoga and meditation.

Parental Guidance
This is an online fitness class. I use a traditional yoga sequence that is safe for kids. Please make sure the yoga space is clear and safe. Whenever students are performing yoga as part of a fitness routine, please be advised of any potential hazards (including, but not limited to, needing an open workout space, slip proof socks or bare feet, a mat, and proper clothing ). Injuries can occur if not properly supervised, such as slips or bumps.

Teacher expertise and credentials
I am a 500 Registered Yoga Instructor and have been practicing and teaching yoga for three years. I teach from a trauma-informed and culturally-sensitive lens paying respect to the ancient traditions of yoga, while also providing a fun and active class experience. I prioritize safety first and always encourage learners to "listen to their bodies" when it comes to trying new poses and exercises.
