👧🏼 Welcome to Mindfulness & Wellbeing for Littles! 👦🏻 This is one-time class is designed to introduce young children to the basics of mindfulness and wellbeing. Through fun activities, stories and interactive sessions, children will learn how to manage their emotions, practice kindness and cultivate a sense of inner peace and happiness. 📚 What topics will you cover? This class will explore a range of different mindfullness strategies some of which will include: 1. A mindfulness listening activity 2. Breathing techniques 3. A guided relaxation exercise (or body scan for kids) 4. Identifying emotions 5. Discussing kindness and gratitude 6. Simple yoga exercises 🏫 How is your class structured? Here is an example of how each lesson may be structured: Introduction: (10 minutes) ⭐ Welcome and ice-breaker activities ⭐ What is Mindfulness? ⭐ Mindful Listening Activity Breathing and Relaxation: (15 minutes) ⭐ Breathing techniques (belly breathing, rainbow breathing, square breathing etc). ⭐ How to do a body scan for meditation Understanding Emotions: (30 minutes) ⭐ Emotion charades game ⭐ Creating an emotion wheel Practicing Kindness and Gratitude (15 minutes) ⭐ Discussing Kindness and Gratitude ⭐ Gratitude Tree Activity ⭐ Storytime: "Have You Filled a Bucket Today?" by Carol McCloud ⭐ Create your own 'Gratitude Tree' Mindful Movement and Reflection (15 minutes) ⭐ Simple Yoga for Kids ⭐ Reflection Circle (sharing what we learned) Conclusion (5 minutes) ⭐ Certificate of Completion 🎓 👩🏻🏫 How will you teach? This is a self-paced class which means that there are NO live lessons. Instead, learners will have access to pre-recorded lessons and all supplementary materials, including activities, games, worksheets and links to relevant videos. 🍎 What's your teaching style? My approach is grounded in warmth, compassion and a deep understanding of young children's developmental needs. Each session is carefully crafted to create a nurturing environment where children feel safe to explore mindfulness and emotional wellbeing. I believe in the power of interactive and playful learning. Through games, storytelling and interactive activities, I aim to make mindfulness concepts relatable and accessible by using language and explanations that are appropriately pitched for young minds. 🧑💻 Interaction is at the heart of Mindfulness & Wellbeing for Littles. Learners will have plenty of opportunities to engage with the teacher through: Submitting work through the Outschool classroom and receiving tailored feedback directly from the teacher.
