Homework
1-2 hours per week. "Homework" is offered as invitations to engage with mindfulness and process art activities. Each "lesson" offers a hands-on activity, none of which will be checked for "correctness".

This self-paced course is designed to guide participants through a transformative journey of self-discovery through the fusion of mindfulness practices, art exploration, and invitations to connect with nature. Participants will be invited to engage in explorations that encourage relaxation and creativity, all while embracing the beauty and wonder of the natural world. By integrating mindfulness techniques with process art, participants will discover new ways to relax, focus, and express themselves creatively, leading to a deeper understanding of themselves and the natural environment.


✨Mindfulness is a technique you can learn which involves noticing what's happening in the present moment, without judgement. You might take notice and be aware of your mind, body or surroundings. Mindfulness Practices in this course include video & audio recordings, curated playlists, written prompts with:  

👁️‍🗨️ Guided meditations for relaxation and stress reduction.

👁️‍🗨️ Breathing exercises to promote calmness and focus.

👁️‍🗨️ Mindful movement activities to increase body awareness and release tension.



✨Process Art is a way of making art that focuses more on the process than the final outcome. Process Art Explorations in this course include demonstration + inspiration videos & written prompts featuring:

👁️‍🗨️ Invitations to engage with art prompts that encourage experimentation, connection and reflection 

👁️‍🗨️ Emphasis on embracing imperfection and celebrating the creative process.

👁️‍🗨️ Working with natural materials to inspire deeper connections with nature.

👁️‍🗨️ Art prompts  informed by the principles of Mindfulness and the natural world.  

👁️‍🗨️ Themed explorations including mandalas, natural materials, watercolor painting, clay & dough, kinetic sculpture, art as ritual

🌱Suggestions for setting up an environment conducive to relaxation and creative exploration will be included to enhance the learning experience.

Participants will have access to additional support and guidance from me throughout the course.

I have 22 years experience as a Yoga practitioner and 6 years experience as a Yoga Instructor.

I completed my 200hr Yoga Teacher Training in June 2020 and Children's Yoga Teacher Training in 2015. I currently have the following credentials for Yoga Alliance: Yoga Alliance Experienced Registered Yoga Teacher (E-RYT 200) and Yoga Alliance Continuing Education Provider® (YACEP) a Yoga Alliance designation for individuals teaching continuing education courses. 

My undergraduate degree (2004) is in Fine Arts, with a concentration in ceramic sculpture and video art. I've worked as an artist since then, including professional experience as a video artist and documentary video producer (mostly in editing). 

All of these skills and experiences inform this course.
