Welcome to Mindfulness & Meditation for Stress Management! This one-on-one class is designed for young learners aged 7-14 years old to discover the joy and benefits of mindfulness and meditation in a fun, engaging, and easy-to-understand way. What Will Be Taught? - Mindfulness Techniques: Learn to focus and quiet the mind through simple, repetitive techniques. - Meditation Practices: Explore various meditation methods to find what works best for each individual. - Yogic Movement and Stillness: Engage in gentle yoga movements, including mudras, and learn to enjoy moments of stillness. Topics We Will Cover - Breathing Exercises: Discover different ways to use breath to calm and center the mind. - Awareness: Learn how to practice stillness amongst distractions in everyday life. - Visualization Techniques: Use imagination to create peaceful and happy mental images. - Gratitude Practices: Focus on the positive by practicing gratitude and appreciation. I'll encourage students to share their feelings and thoughts, use games and fun exercises to make learning enjoyable. I'll utilize slides and pictures to demonstrate techniques, and lead students through each activity step-by-step. I'll create a nurturing space where students feel comfortable and ensure each child feels supported and motivated. I'll also adapt to each child's needs and learning style according to their interest and ability. Students will have ample opportunities to ask questions and share their experiences. They will be able to engage in meaningful conversations about their practice and progress. Let's make mindfulness and meditation a fun and rewarding adventure together!
Learning Goals
Develop foundational mindfulness and meditation skills by equipping students with essential mindfulness and meditation techniques that they can use to focus, quiet their minds, and manage stress effectively.
Enhance self-awareness and emotional regulation by providing tools to help children regulate emotions through body awareness and breathing exercises.

Parental Guidance
To ensure your child gets the most out of our mindfulness and meditation class, please set up a quiet, comfortable space for them. This area should include a comfortable seat, whether on a couch, chair, or the floor with a blanket, yoga mat, or pillow. Make sure they can remain undisturbed for 20 minutes by removing pets, digital devices, or any other distractions from the space, if possible. Students are welcome to have water nearby.
Supply List
Students will need a quiet place with a comfortable seat on a couch, chair, or floor where they will be uninterrupted for 20 minutes. Pets, digital devices, or anything that may distract them should be removed from their learning space.
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.

I travel to India regularly, where I have been trained and initiated in various yoga traditions and techniques. I have led both groups and one-on-one meditation classes at galleries, yoga studios, community events, and even preschools for the past 14 years.
I maintain a daily practice and lifestyle that has integrated these techniques. I have taught Pre-K-12 mindfulness techniques using sounds to help focus and activate the brain for optimum learning.
These experiences enrich my teaching with authentic insights and global perspectives.
