The definition of mindfulness for children:
Being aware of ourselves, what is happening inside ourselves in terms of rational thinking, in terms of our emotional capacity to experience life in terms of physical functioning, and how our actions, posture, behaviors, body language, vocabulary, attitudes, emotional reactions are impacting other people. 

This is not a therapy class, but a class to slow down and experience life around you. To be mindful in the moment. What does this look like:
-Listening to others
-Sharing with other
-Respecting others

How is your class structured?
•	The class will be structured with a set curriculum. 
•	Small class side for individual attention and group cohesiveness.

Welcome/Introductions/Class Structure:
1.	Calming mindfulness exercise: ( to set the tone of class and settle everyone down)
•	Breathing and/or visualization exercise
2.	Mindfulness vs. unmindful exercise
3.	Mindfulness listening activity ( “Simon Says”, etc)
4.	Mindfulness movement- body language and posture activity (Yoga or balance move, etc.)
5.	Mindfulness game questions 

The class will conclude with students answering questions about what they learned in class today. 


How will you teach?
•	I will facilitate the class and present the curriculum. I encourage involvement and participation to each individual’s extent possible.

What is your teaching style?
•	My teaching style is one of engagement with my students. I follow a curriculum but leave room for discussion and questions. 
I am very energetic and enthusiastic in the classroom and positive towards learning. I like to model what I am teaching. 

How much will the learner get to interact with others?
•	The learners will get to interact with their fellow students as much as they like. This is a class of open communication and learning. 
I will also pause for questions or further understanding.

•	No

•	How they are breathing (fast or slow)
•	What they are thinking (thoughts)
•	How they are feeling (emotions)
•	What their posture, body language, and facial expressions are saying to other people.
