Description

Class Experience

Students will be able to define stress. Students will be able to differentiate between good stress (eustress) versus bad stress (distress). Students will be able to list various techniques that can assist with stress.
Ms. Rebecca is a school social worker. She has her Masters in Social Work and is a key member of her school's Mental Health Team. She has provided ongoing counseling to students of all ages. Stress management is a key part of her support provided to her students in school. She has been trained in Save the Children's Journey of Hope socioemotional curriculum, which included her conducting several parent workshops and youth training. She is more than comfortable teaching youth about stress, emotions, and how to understand themselves better.
No homework will be assigned.
A list of stress management techniques discussed will be handed out in class.
In addition to the Outschool classroom, this class uses:
Informal knowledge checks throughout the course will be conducted to ensure consistent student attainment of information.
45 minutes per week in class, and maybe some time outside of class.
