There will be on-going assessments for comprehension of the weekly theme through asking questions, discussions and art.Class Experience
During this class series, learners will interact with teacher and peers using a book theme. I will use books, video clips and art to make this class interactive and engaging. Students will learn about simple concept social skills (empathy, taking turns, mistakes are ok, feelings etc.) If needed, I will start with a guided drawing to get the learners comfortable and then we will move into creating more individual pieces of artwork. At the end, we will share our art and experiences with each other. Supply List
We will typically use the following supplies unless an email goes out before class: (**Please do not stress if you don't have all of the supplies - kids can use whatever supplies they like unless that class is teaching a specific art technigue in which parents will be notified ahead of time so they can prepare.) 1. Watercolors 2. Crayons / Oil Pastels (watercolors and "wax/oil" does not mix so this is a cool effect when you have both) 3. Paper that is good for painting on (student grade watercolor pads are perfect but some kids have done the classes on copy paper.) 4. Scissors 5. Glue 6. Markers
External Resources
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
Sources
I will supply books, video clips, songs. Students only need to bring art supplies to class.
