Welcome to the Mindful Movement & Meditation: Reduce Stress & Anxiety class! Here we nurture and support the mind, body and the soul. Each is essential to maintaining a healthy and balanced lifestyle. In this class, we will be incorporating many forms of movement; improvisation, yoga, exercise, fitness creative movement, breathwork exercises, etc. to help manage emotions, stress, anxiety, and things that may sometime have an overwhelming impact on our day-to-day lifestyle. This class is taught in English.
Students will develop the following techniques: - Focused breathing - Recognizing tension and stress in the body - Mindful creativity through imaging - Bringing awareness to their own inner voice, and how to connect to their inner voice for guidance when needed.
Students will be encouraged to take time outside of class to continue practicing these techniques. Consistency is key when it comes to developing new and healthy habits.
Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
There will be a mindful review at the end of each class, consisting of open dialogue and knowledge, tips, and feedback given to students.
30 minutes per week in class, and an estimated 2 - 4 hours per week outside of class.
All content, subjects, music, movement will be appropriate for the age level. Students are encouraged to have the following: - Comfortable clothing - Sneakers, socks, no shoes, are all acceptable in class - Comfortable mat or soft object - Water
