Class Experience

This course runs for 4 weeks and has 3 meetings/recordings posted for each week. This is quite purposeful, as the intention behind this course is to create the habit of a positive and calming morning routine! Three times each week, over the course of a month will help children to establish this practice into their routines and to reap the benefits of the practices!

A consistent and introspective morning routine is a life-changing habit! Starting the day with a period of quiet and positive intention, sets the tone not just for the rest of the day, but for your entire life!

The purpose of this class is to instill the practice of a meaningful and centering morning routine. It is difficult for adults to commit to a productive morning routine, never mind children! Once this habit is created and children reap the rewards, they will continue to seek out this time for themselves, setting themselves up for greater success!

There will be three components to each class; journaling (including affirmations), breathwork, and meditation.

Each class will begin with a quote for reflection. These quotes will be based on mindfulness themes of presence, love, self-love, peace, positivity, and gratitude. Students will have time to record this quote into their journals.

I will provide a handful of affirmations/mantras based on the quote. Students will choose the one that resonates with them and record it in their journal as well. They will then be guided through some calming breathwork and enter into a 6-8 minute meditation.

Meditation is a practice, a learned skill. It takes time to master this skill, and the only way to get there is through practice! Affirmations are likewise, a learned skill that must be practiced to be effective.

While meditation brings greater peace, clarity, and a sense of self, affirmations set children up for success by helping them create the beliefs that will serve as a guideline for how they view themselves and the world around them.

Both of these tools are not only incredibly empowering for kids, but they also bring higher levels of resilience, confidence and happiness!
Learning Goals
Students will learn how to create positive affirmations and use them effectively. Students will learn what affirmations are and how we can choose affirmations that uplift and support us!
