Mindful Molly's Yoga: Kids Yoga & Story Time Camp (5-7 Year Olds) (Beginner)

In this 4 session camp, students will enjoy story time, breathing exercises, and yoga poses. We end every class with resting pose and a mini meditation.

Class Experience

Welcome to my yoga studio! 
If you want to learn to breathe like a lion, stand like a tree, and fly like an airplane, THIS IS YOUR CLASS!

In this 4 session yoga camp, students will be taught basic breathing techniques and yoga poses. Each class will begin with a yoga related story time, breathing techniques, and a mini yoga flow.  We will then work on the corresponding yoga poses for each session:  

Session 1: Balancing (Tree pose, Airplane pose)
Story time Book: Yoga Bunny by Brian Russo (Harper Collins Publishers)

Session 2: Warriors (Warrior 2, Wide leg)
Story time Book: Good Morning Yoga by Miriam Gates, Illustrated by Sarah Jane Hinder (Sounds True)

Session 3: Twists (Volcano, Twisty Pretzel)
Story time Book: I Am Peace by Susan Verde, Art by Peter H Reynolds (Abrams Books for Young Readers)

Session 4: Rainbows (Seated Rainbow, Half moon)
Story time Book: The Don't Worry Book by Todd Parr (Megan Tingley Books)

We will take a break midway through class to enjoy 'Tick Tock Yoga Clock' by Karma Kids Yoga.  This is an awesome mind and body break for the students!  And it's always quite the hit!  

Each class will conclude with a group savasana and mini meditation. 

This class is for beginners.  No experience is required.  Just come to class with an open mind, open ears, and an open heart : )

All students and abilities are welcome!

Learning Goals

Students will learn the basics of yoga including, breathing, mindfulness, and asana (poses). My hope is that they also learn techniques through movement and breath that will help them when they need to find calmness in their lives.

Other Details

Parental Guidance
Please ensure that your child has proper supervision and an adequately open workout space free of any hazards. They are encouraged to wear slip proof socks or come in bare feet to reduce slipping. Students are advised to bring a water bottle and wear proper clothing for exercise and stretching.
Supply List
Students are not required to have any supplies for this class, however, they can bring a yoga mat, blanket, or towel to sit and stretch on during class.  They will be asked to take off their shoes and socks to ensure safety and reduce slipping.  Please have your child wear comfortable clothing appropriate for exercise and stretching.

Learners will not need to use any apps or websites beyond the standard Outschool tools.
