I teach classes that center around the important aspects of "Whole Wellness". I have over 20 years in the health and wellness field, Masters Degree in Exercise Science & Health Promotion, Bachelors in Cellular Biology and multiple certifications/specializations through the National Academy of Sports Medicine, to include: Certified Personal Trainer, Certified Nutrition Coach, Weight Loss Specialist, Sports Nutrition Specialist, and Behavior Change Specialist. I also hold certifications through Yogafit and National Association of Speed and Explosion. I teach wellness classes to children locally, as well as specialize in one on one wellness coaching of children and adults all over the World! As a kidney transplant recipient, and Polycystic Kidney Disease Warrior, I have adopted an approach to wellness that is truly a life long learning approach. I believe it is vital to approach Wellness in a realistic step by step manner, as opposed to the "all or nothing" behavior that is seen all too often. Additional fun tidbits: Some of my favorite activities are stand up paddle boarding, yoga and snowboarding! I absolutely LOVE the water, but lived in the Mojave Desert for over 5 years!
Students will be encouraged to journal their food, feelings and fitness daily. These journal entries will be used for in-class reflection and to create realistic and positive behavior change.
