Mindfulness is the practice of paying attention on purpose. Practicing mindfulness regularly can help students to regulate emotions, improve communication, reduce stress, and increase self-awareness. The basic tools of mindfulness are: breathing, visualization, and movement. Drawing can also be considered a form of mindfulness because it engages both the mind and the body in a way that is calming and centering. This is an ongoing class, so we will create a different drawing in each class....
Students will learn a mindful breathing technique. Students will create a drawing connected to mindfulness which may contain geometric shapes and lines.
