Students will practice in-depth brainstorming, creating a mind map of their thoughts in the structure of a 5-paragraph essay, and forming a strong thesis and introductory essay in a timely manner to simulate timed testing experiences. Students will share their topic of choice and thesis statement with the class. Following class, students will have the opportunity to complete their introductory paragraph and submit to the teacher for personalized feedback. This class serves as an introduction. There will be subsequent classes relating to writing 5-paragraph essays.
